AUSTRIAN POST: CRYPTO STAMP 5.0 TURNS FIERCE BEARS INTO SWEET BABY BEARS
COMMUNITY TRUST: 999,999 CRYPTO STAMPS CAN’T BE WRONG

Today, on 23 June, Austrian Post’s new Crypto stamp 5.0 goes on sale. Not only is Austrian Post about to break the sound barrier of one million Crypto stamps, making it one of the most successful and enduring Crypto and NFT projects in the world, but it is also rolling out a technical innovation: For the first time, the Crypto stamp 5.0 motifs can interact with each other to create entirely new NFT motifs.

“With the issue of Crypto stamp 5.0, we are holding at 999,999 stamps and are just short of the one-million mark. Austrian Post’s Crypto stamp is a consistent project and, in contrast to the volatile crypto market, delivers stability and consistency. That is why we are daring to be ‘real crazy’ this year and why we remain a pioneer in the international market. The trust the community has in us proves that only the original combines security and innovation!” says Patricia Liebermann, Head of Philately at Austrian Post.

ANOTHER INNOVATION: CRYPTO STAMP SAFE
The latest Crypto stamp issue comes with a new addition as well: The roaring Bear and the golden Safe.

  • The Bear stands for fluctuations and falling prices in the financial world. With this, Austrian Post is documenting the crypto winter that has kept crypto enthusiasts on their toes for the past few months.
  • The golden Safe has a real, hinged door behind which one of three symbols is hidden: A Pacifier, a Bottle or a Rainbow. The QR code for activation is found on the back of the stamp for the first time.
The two motifs of the Crypto stamp can now be combined for the first time. The Pacifier turns into a cute baby Bear when combined with the roaring Bear, the Bottle also shrinks the Bear – into a sulky version – as well as changing the background into the unique colour of the original Crypto stamp 5.0 Bear. The Rainbow has the highest rarity value, it shrinks the Bear and additionally gives it a rainbow background.

In addition to the magic between the Bear and the Safe, there is another surprise: This time, the Bear’s NFT comes in a single, unique, new colour that makes the Crypto stamp 5.0 Bear sparkle on the blockchain – a hint of the one-millionth issue.

The resulting motif is stored in the owner’s wallet. Any unused Crypto stamp Safes should be stored securely as they may well be useful for other Crypto stamp issues at a later date.
The motifs of the Crypto stamp 5.0 will be issued in quantities of 60,000 (Bear) and 65,499 (Crypto stamp Safe); they have a face value of EUR 9.90 euros and can be used like a conventional stamp for franking post.

Like its predecessors, the Crypto stamp 5.0 has an integrated NFC chip for authenticity verification. An NFC-enabled smartphone not only enables users to check the authenticity, but also to activate the digital twin in the blockchain. Only by scanning the QR code on the front does the roaring Bear come to life.

The new Crypto stamps are available as of today in the online shop and onchain store of Austrian Post at cryptostamp.com, at the Collectors’ Service and in all post office branches and philately shops (Telephone: +43 577 67 – 95095; E-mail: sammler-service@post.at).
